Does the Socialist International assume that the Democrats will win? Why were their delegations at the DNC?

The Socialist International already has an “official” liason in the US—the Democratic Socialist Party of America.

So why did they jump the gun and send delegations to Denver?

Why is the Socialist International NOW wishing to “expand inter-party relations with the Democrats” in the US?

Hungarian Socialists eager to cement ties with US Democrats

The ruling Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) seeks to expand relations with the US Democratic Party, a senior Socialist politician told Hungarian reporters in Washington on Monday.

Monika Lamperth is heading an MSZP delegation to the Democratic Party Convention as the personal envoy of party chairman and prime minister Ferenc Gyurcsany.

[Gyurcsany, a former Communist Youth Leader, recently became Vice President of the Socialist International]

“Our visit is intended to strengthen and, in some areas, expand inter-party relations with the Democrats,” she said.

Um, what does it mean when International Socialists seek “inter-party relations?” What about the Obama/Biden ticket is so attractive to them?

Do they assume that Americans will be intimidated by the coercive manipulations of speculators behind the Obama ticket?

good grief look what I just found:

Are politics like a rocking chair?

Winnie asked:

Giving you something to do but not really getting you anywhere?

I am realizing that politics (specifically democracies and republics) just seem to be a bunch of hog wash, attempting to get people to buy into systems that are not really for or about them in attempts to bolster the nations international agenda. It’s almost as if the government is saying, “if we can get these idiots to believe that they actually have a say and that there is an ‘American Dream’ worth achieving, why then we can get them to do anything”. We are told to vote to make a difference, but is my voice really going to make a difference when I am voting for Joe Schmoe down the street and the media and their followers (i.e., the People) have already chosen Tom Harry and Jane ****? When we all know politicians get to Washington D.C. and get conditioned anyway, why do we follow these candidates as though they are one of us when they can quickly become one of them?

What do you guys think?

Regardless of who wins the presidency, are we all ready to join together to get the US back on its feet?

David asked:

I’m a sure a Obama supporter, but at the end of the day, whoever winds presidency, I’m worried that all this partisan **** is going to have a lingering affect on politics in the near future, and divide American even more. Do you think we can get over the differences to gain back our international respect, do what’s necessary to bring our soldiers back home, and to fix the economy?

War on terror - Way to votes for the U.S presidential candidates! agree?

Ayaz Ali asked:

After the events of September 11, 2001 put the ‘war on terror’ at the forefront of international politics, it seems the issue remains a favorite fallback for politicians starting out on the long road that they hope will end at the white house.
US candidates who have learnt from the example set by President George W Bush that creating an ‘external’ enemy is a good way to create sense of paranoia.
do you agree?

Who will be best placed in terms of international relations?

Mancloud asked:

Bush, I don’t feel has done much for America’s image abroad.

Who do you feel will improve that image and international relations, Clinton, Obama, McCain??
To the guy that rants about dictatorships. Believe it or not, most of Europe isn’t a dictatorship. I was just looking for an answer about normal international relationships with friends of the US as well as adversaries.
